Visual Texture

Concrete consists of water, sand, stone (aggregate) and cement. When concrete is cast, the wet cement coats all of the other materials. Different degrees of grinding and polishing the concrete will reveal diferent visual texture options.

cement finish

without grinding, most of what can be seen is the cement. this finish may patina more than other finishes

sand finish

light grinding exposes the sand. sand finish is usually the most even and consistent look.

exposed aggregate finish

with heavy grinding, the stones become a strong element of the finish. shown here with clear glass

acid stain finish

a special surface treatment that burns color into the surface. available in a limited color palette
