Concrete
Advantages
Concrete
is poured, not cut, to perfectly match your vision. Colors,
textures, inlays and shapes, integral sinks and drainboards,
arcs, angles and reliefs are just some of the many possibilities.
Concrete
countertops are handcrafted. Part of the charm of concrete
is the lack of factory-like perfection. Forms are handmade,
slabs are hand polished.
Each
countertop is unique. Variations in temperature, humidity,
consistency and natural materials all contribute to the finished
product. Your countertops will be one-of-a-kind.
Concrete
stands the test of time. It has been used consistently for
thousands of years. Dating back to Roman times, concrete has
become the most widely used construction material on Earth.
Concrete
is a green building material with the look of natural stone
but with far greater design and color possibilities.
Concrete
Options
Color:
Nearly any color, from tan to black to pale blue to fire
engine red is possible. Earthtones, pastels, neutrals and vibrants
are all available. It is even possible to match custom colors.
Finish:
It is possible for concrete to take on many different visual
textures. From the soft, watery look of the "cement finish"
to the more traditional "sand finish", from the bold
look of "exposed aggregate" to the random beauty of
"acid staining", concrete can mimic other materials
or create a look all its own.
Inlays:
Glass,
seashells, metal fragments and other objects can be mixed into
the concrete. Larger objects can be placed in the form, such
as stainless steel shapes, automotive parts, stone and glass
tiles and industrial objects.
Design
elements: Concrete takes the shape of the form into which
it is cast. Recesses, sinks, drainboards, and trivets can be
customized and personalized to create unique objects that match
both the client and the design environment.
